Be a Civic Scientist on the T
Use your experience and observations on the T to get better service for you and all riders
What is a ‘civic scientist’? Someone who does what’s called ‘citizen science’ (see Wikipedia article): amateurs participating in scientific research, in particular to make city or civic life better.
The National Audobon Society administers the Christmas Bird Count to provide bird population data for use in science, especially conservation biology.
T Civic Scientist is an effort to do something similar for people living, working, and visiting places served by the MBTA: to provide transit data to improve transit — and mobility in general — in and around Boston.
The first two efforts are the Transit Ride Timer and Left Behind!
Transit Ride Timer
Where did the time go on your ride?
Transit Ride Timer lets you record how time on your ride is spent.
Left Behind!
It’s too crowded to get on!
Use Left Behind! to report which line, where and when you were left behind because of crowding.
